Planning for an extended Easter break

It seems likely that the Easter holiday for schools will be extended this year in an effort to reduce the impact of the coronavirus. It also seems, at the moment, that every effort will be made to run the summer exam series as normally as possible. This means that many students will miss the period of revision preparation in school that secures them the highest grades of which they are capable.

We have developed packs that support students targeting grades 4, 5 and 6 that could be distributed over the extended Easter break. These packs, each of which includes three booklets, could also form the basis of any electronic support that schools may be able to continue to offer on a remote basis.

Below are details of the packs and an indication of for whom they are intended.. Each pack of three booklets will be charged at the discounted rate of £3.00 per pack. A minimum order of 10 packs is required and postage will be charged at cost.

Pack target 4

Pack consists of 20 more marks foundation skills, making progress grades 3 to 4 algebra and geometry and making progress grades 3 to 4 number and statistics. This pack supports students targeting grade 4. These will be students who will need some support at grade 3 in some topics and will need to secure their understanding at grade 4.

Pack target 5 (Foundation)

Pack consists of 20 more marks book 1, survivor's guide 5 - and more marks on the overlap questions.  This pack supports students entering foundation tier and targeting grade 5. These students will be those who are weak at grade 5 standard but with support will reach this level.

Pack stronger target 5 (Foundation or Higher)

Pack consists of 20 more marks book 2, survivor's guide 5 = and more marks on the overlap questions.  This pack supports students entering foundation or higher tier and targeting grade 5. These students will be those who are stronger at grade 5 standard or who are weak at grade 6 standard.

Pack target 6

Pack consists of 20 more marks book 3, survivor's guide 5 + and more marks on the overlap questions.  This pack supports students entering higher tier and targeting grade 6. These students will be those who need to ensure that no marks will be lost at grade 5 standard and will need to secure their understanding at grade 6.
