DfE announce senior mental health lead training

94% of children aged 6-8 years old and 71% of those aged 9-17 are happy with their life over all according to The Big Answer report published this week. Based on The Big Ask survey launched earlier this year, the report unpacks the views of 557,077 children about their families, communities, health and wellbeing, school life and their future, as well as the experiences of children in care.

The report was published as the DfE announced that state funded schools and colleges can now book a DfE funded training course for their senior mental health lead, to help them implement an effective whole school or college approach to mental health and wellbeing. Details on how to apply can be found in the DfE’s updated guidance on senior mental health lead training.
