Autumn exams, which will be held from October to December, will be open to any student who received a teacher assessed grade this summer. Ofqual published its decision following a consultation on GCSE, AS and A level exams in the autumn. The final plans state that the Ofqual has also decided that:
- Exam boards will have to offer exams in all GCSE and A level subjects and AS exams in biology, chemistry, maths, further maths, and physics
- Exams will be taken in their normal format with no adaptions
- Grades will be determined by a student’s performance in an exam for all subjects
- An exam board must issue a replacement certificate to a student showing the higher of an autumn 2021 or summer 2021 grade in response to a request from that student.
